How are you storing chemicals in your facility? If you store them in drums, you have to make sure that leaks or spills don’t end up causing problems. Fortunately, the right spill containment pallet can help you.
Unfortunately, drums are not leak-proof. They can also spill, for example when you’re dispensing some of their contents. And when they leak or spill, what should you do?
Spill containment pallets to the rescue!
It’s really not very complicated. You simply need to make sure to catch the spill or leak before it has a chance to escape. And what it takes is a spill containment pallet. They’re perfect for containing spills, and they’re available specifically for drums.
Here’s how pallets work: They’re containers, a bit like saucers that you put underneath a flower pot to catch any overflowing water. Of course, those for drums are much bigger, and they can be counted on to catch any of the chemical that might escape.
Those spill containment pallets are also very sturdy, since they’re usually made out of a high density polyethylene material that resists corrosion of almost any substance. This is important since they have to be able to handle whatever chemical happens to be inside the drum that’s placed on top of them.
Here’s another piece of good news: spill containment pallet don’t only keep that spill from causing a big mess in your facility, but they also make cleanup a piece of cake.
Luckily, spill containment pallets make that job easy. They usually have poly grates that you can remove to clean separately and to clean the pallets themselves.
One last thing… you might also want to get a portable ramp so you can load and unload your drums more easily.
